McKinney-Vento Education Program
The North Attleborough Public Schools is committed to supporting students and families while experiencing living challenges to ensure they reach academic, health, social, emotional and behavioral proficiency.
The McKinney-Vento Act defines homeless children as "individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence." Students meet the definition for McKinney-Vento status if they:
- Live in a shelter
- Live doubled-up (sharing the housing of others due to loss of housing, economic hardship)
- Live unsheltered (cars, parks, campgrounds, abandoned buildings, and substandard/inadeqate housing)
- Live in a hotel/motel
